The launch of astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri to the International
Space Station is a historic shift for the UAE in the space sector, the UAE
Officials confirmed.
They underlined that all challenges are turned to quality
achievements at the hands of the UAE wise leadership and the capable male and
female nationals. It is a message to the whole world that the Emiratis’
aspirations shall never soar below the sky.
Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi,
Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, said: “Hazza Al Mansouri set off to space
carrying the hopes and aspirations of his people and his country to realize the
ambition of Zayed by and for the young Emirati. They did it through their
passion, determination, and perseverance while embodying the determination of
youth and the flame of hope for a bright future. Live Long UAE! Live Long the
Youth! Let aspirations reach the peaks.”
Sheikh Saeed Al Sharqi, Chairman of Fujairah Chamber of Commerce
and Industry and the Director-General, congratulated the wise leadership on the
civilized achievement on the occasion of the launch of the first Emirati
astronaut into space.
The UAE officials stressed that Emirati youth proved that they
learn from their leaders how the summit alone is the place worthy of the status
of the UAE. They also emphasized that the word impossible does not exist in the
dictionary of the Emirates.
Historical Quantum Leap
Sheikh Saeed Al Sharqi said: “This day is a historic quantum
leap for the UAE in the space sector. We are so proud of the launch of our son
and ambassador, astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri, to the International Space
Station, carrying the UAE flag to flutter high to achieve “Zayed’s
ambition”.
He added: “It is a great dream that our founding leader father,
late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, always dreamed of achieving. Now, the
UAE proves that it deserves to hold the title of the State of the possibilities
and that the challenges are turned at the hands of its wise leadership and with
the competencies of its sons and daughters to be quality achievement s that
dazzle the world.”
“It is unprecedent achievement at the level of the Arab world
and proves that the word impossible does not exist in the dictionary of the
Emirates.”
Al Sharqi availed the opportunity to greet the wise leadership
of the UAE on this unprecedented achievement. He said: “I would like to extend
my most sincere congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and
Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their fellow members of
the Supreme Council of the UAE Rulers, and to the people and government of the
UAE, on the occasion of this new civilized achievement. Indeed, it is the
culmination of the achievements made by the UAE wise leadership and
continuation of its heritage, fostering the present and shaping the future to
paving the way to arrive at the space.”
Aspirations Are Unlimited
For his part, H.E. Dirar Belhoul Al Falasi, Director General of
Watani Al Emarat Foundation, underlined that the launch of the UAE astronaut,
Hazza Al Mansouri, on his trip to the International Space Station, as the first
Arab to reach the station and the third Arab to be launched into space is a
qualitative leap in the UAE’s scientific efforts. It is an achievement that
translates the dream, vision, and ambition of the UAE late founder, Sheikh
Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in peace.
H.E. Dirar Belhoul stated: “This mission is a message to the
world that there is no limit to the Emiratis’ ambition and that the UAE has
officially entered the global race to explore the outer space through the
decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of
the UAE to establish UAE Space Agency.”
He also pointed out: “This immense achievement is a renowned
additional line in the record of the great civilized successes realized by the
UAE which would not happen without the generous support of the UAE wise
leadership to sciences.”
H.E. Belhoul concluded: “This space flight is an actual
translation and an affirmation of the national identity that all Emiratis
cherish. The Emirati astronaut was provided with prayer times and Emirati foods
that reflect the brilliant cultural identity of the Emiratis and their
adherence to the Arab and Islamic customs and traditions, as well as walking
through the widest doors of science and knowledge.”
Global Standing
H.E. Arif Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Dubai Statistics
Center (DSC), said that the UAE achieved a historic and exceptional achievement
on 25th September 2019 by launching Hazza Al Mansouri’s mission to space as the
first Emirati astronaut to arrive at the International Space Station.
Al Muhairi looks at this mission as only the beginning of a long
journey. He stated: “It is only the starting point to enhance the UAE’s
position in the race and exploration of space. It is a historic moment in
drawing new features of the future and in the record of the UAE’s quality
achievements. It is undoubtedly a source of pride for all Emiratis and
Arabs.”
He added: “This mission reflects the universal aspirations of
the UAE leadership and people based on a well-established vision of giving and
excellence. It is a new milestone that will place our homeland among the
developed countries in all fields, and to enter the world of scientific
discoveries, as well as to contribute to the service and happiness of humankind.”
Al Muhairi extended his sincerest congratulations to the UAE
leadership and nation for such a historic achievement. “It embodies the
ambition of the UAE founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,
may God rest his soul in peace. It also reflects the aspirations of our wise
leadership to achieve quantum leaps by the Emiratis and to reflect the UAE’s
cultural image globally.”
Historical Day
Mohammed Abdullah Ahli, Director-General of the Dubai Civil
Aviation Authority, said: “The UAE has made a historic breakthrough with the
arrival of Hazza Al Mansouri, the first Emirati astronaut, to the International
Space Station.”
“Today, we experience historical moments! We are all proud of
the first Emirati astronaut, who carries the UAE flag. Today, Zayed’s dream
comes true and becomes a reality embracing the space. This event represents
cultural heritage and a source of inspiration for future generations, and the
next stage would be full of global achievements in the name of our dearest
homeland.”
H.E. Mohammed Ahli concluded: “Nothing is impossible for the
sons and daughters of Zayed. May God protect our leaders and the people of the
UAE.”

Shaikha Amina Bint Humaid Al Tayer, Chairwoman of Dubai Women’s
Association (DWA), extended her sincerest congratulations to the UAE wise
leadership on the occasion of the arrival of Hazza Al Mansouri to the
international space station.
