Dubai Customs Receiving DSC Delegation- Al Bayan
Dubai Customs recently received a delegation from Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) for further briefings on the best practices and systems being implemented by Dubai Customs in the area of government services innovation. Mr. Husam Jumaa Mohammed, Director of Service Innovation Department, along with the Department staff received the DSC delegation comprised of Ms. Naima Abdullah Abdul Wahed, Head of Creativity and Innovation Unit, Ms. Mona Sultan Al Rumaithi, Head of Customer Care, Mr. Lou'ai Mahmoud Halas, Senior Quality Systems Specialist, and Mr. Al Mo'taz Bellah Mohammed Ammar, Project Management Executive. This visit comes in line with a framework of mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences with the government authorities at the UAE level to serve the public interest.
Mr. Husam Jumaa reviewed the best practices implemented in the area of services innovation and its contribution to achieving Dubai Customs' vision, that is to be the leading customs administration in the world supporting legitimate trade. He underscored the most important tasks of Service Innovation Department, including developing service innovation strategy, developing intelligent transformation strategy, operations management, service management, technology and data design, knowledge management, service and processes automation, development and modernization.
"The innovations implemented by Dubai Customs have enhanced its leadership being rewarded by the most significant local and regional awards in the field of innovation and services. Indeed, Dubai Customs recorded a new global achievement in innovation by receiving "Certified Innovative Organization" Certificate granted by the Global Innovation Institute to be the first customs department in the world acquiring such a certificate," said Mr. Jumaa. He concluded by saying, "Dubai Customs has also received 11 global accreditations for unprecedented innovations from the Global Innovation Institute based in USA. As a matter of fact, Dubai Customs received more than 62 awards in the area of innovation between 2010 and 2016."
