Industrial activity refers to establishments engaged in transforming raw materials into finished products for personal use or other industries.
Key economic indicators for this sector, such as value added, production, intermediate consumption, employment figures, employee compensation, and capital formation, are presented through a series of economic surveys conducted by the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment (DDSE) for licensed industrial firms across all licensing authorities in Dubai.
Additionally, the data includes administrative records related to the energy sector, periodically published by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). These records provide insights into electricity generation, consumption by category, water production and consumption, as well as the development and efficiency of electricity and water distribution networks. The data also covers key economic indicators for the electricity, gas, and water sector, derived using the production approach to estimate production values, intermediate consumption, value added, employee compensation, and capital formation.
The activities within this sector are classified according to the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC Rev. 4- PDF, 1.03 MB), which has been in use since 2013. DDSE has re-estimated the time series for all activities and published them in accordance with this classification to ensure consistency and comparability.
