The construction activity includes the building and development of residential and commercial properties, as well as the construction of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and pipelines. This sector includes firms engaged in building construction and maintenance, as well as those involved in infrastructure development and upkeep.
Economic indicators for this sector, such as value added, production, intermediate consumption, employment numbers and compensation, and capital formation, are presented through a series of economic surveys conducted by Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment (DDSE) for licensed firms in the emirate.
Firms are classified according to the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC Rev 4(, which has been in use since 2013. DDSE has also re-estimated and published the time series for all activities based on this classification to ensure consistency and comparability.
