Officials in Dubai said that the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, launched yesterday - at the Cabinet of Ministers - represent a road map for the prosperity and happiness of future generations. They pointed out the government's quest to equip our generations with the various tools and knowledge and the skills that will enable them to succeed in a world totally different from our today's world and reality.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Executive Director of DP World, President of the Port, Customs and Free Zone Authority, has commended the  project «UAE Centennial 2071» launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He stated that for future generations this project, which is based on the lecture of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander to the Armed Forces, is a continuation of the overall development process that reflects the interest of our rational leadership in the generations coming, and achieving prosperity and happiness for them, pointing out that today's initiative represents a road map for the prosperity and happiness of future generations, the leadership of the Emirates globally, with a comprehensive vision focusing on four domains: education, economy, government development and cohesion.

He said that we are accustomed to our wise leader's launch of creative initiatives that are foreseeing the future and molding it. It also seeks to strengthen the leadership of the UAE at the global level, by dependence on the youth citizens, where the unique " UAE Centennial 2071" project will establish youth advisory councils in all sectors, to solicit their views and take them into stimulus and development, particularly in the context of the successive variables at the international level in general and regionally in particular. This requires the preparation of generations with advanced skills and futuristic ideas, enabling them to lead the overall development and leadership at the international level.

Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that the " UAE Centennial 2071" reflects the future and ambitious vision of the good leader, noting that it is a true affirmation of the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces: «If our investment today is true, I bet we will celebrate when exporting the last barrel of oil after 50 years». This saying was the starting point towards foreseeing the future, thinking about how to make real investments in education, and supporting our human resources, to ensure their readiness to work, produce and be competitive.

He added that the project was looking at the future of the State through a comprehensive lens that described the State from integrated perspectives, and future generations had always been a prime focus during the development of the "UAE Centennial 2071" project and its domains, in addition to the Government's quest to equip our generations with  various tools and knowledge, as well as the skills that will enable them to succeed in a world totally different from ours.

Based on the direction of the good leadership, we are seeking to develop a national strategy to enhance the reputation of the State, develop advanced technology-based education and build an Emirati ethical value system in future generations.

Opportunity

Arif Al Muhairi, DSC Executive Director, said that the UAE Centennial 2071 guarantee a better and happier life for tomorrow's generations, offers them opportunities to communicate with the whole world in the easiest way, and to tap knowledge from its original sources.

He added that the initiative was an opportunity for young people and tomorrow's generations that previous generation did not have; to plan their own future from now, an opportunity which their parents and grandparents lacked. Nobody around the world thought about this, making us lucky with our government that always think of all that gives us a dignified life, proper education, well-being, and guarantees us a future that or others is unknown, while our government puts it in our hands with ease to follow and to surpass ourselves and all nations around the world.

Foreseeing

Ahmed Mahbub Mesbeh, Dubai Customs director, said that the "UAE Centennial 2071" project will provide five decades of comprehensive knowledge-based development across four main domains, namely, education, economy, government development and cohesion, with a view to providing a bright and prosperous future for the young people of the nation, building on their vision and views in foreseeing the future, and developing strategies to enhance the reputation and smooth strength of the United Arab Emirates.

He added that the Wise Leadership initiatives support the ability of the United Arab Emirates to keep abreast of the world's latest scientific and economic developments, particularly in the light of the rapid developments in the world today, affirming that Man begins with proper planning in order to achieve goals, and this requires developing well-studied future plans to implement the initiatives called for in the "UAE Centennial 2071" project.

Abdel Rahman Saleh Al Saleh, director general of the the Department of Finance in the Government of Dubai, confirmed that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president, Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, announcement of 'UAE Centennial 2071' project, represents an important quantum leap on the road to the State's progress and construction.

He considered that the keenness of local governments to inspire the "UAE Centennial 2071" programmed to induce the national strategy that it includes will ensure success in meeting the challenges related to the objectives of the Centennial project's main domains, pointing out that the government's focus today to accomplish the plans and goals associated with 2021 should not discourage them from looking up to the next 50 years, and we can, through investment in the youth of the Emirates, achieve the desired goals, such as ensuring that government revenues are diversified away from oil.

Hamad Boamim, Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the launch of the "UAE Centennial 2071" reflects a good insight and a wise perspective of our leaders towards making the future of generations and the future of the Emirates, affirming that the vision is clear and effective, and draws a prosperous future for the UAE people

He clarified that the the inclusion of the vision concerning economy reflects the great interest in establishing the State as a global business centre and a leading destination in the world of money and business and that the most salient feature of the state is the proper planning for the future to which the State aspires.

Developments

Sultan Batti bin Mgrn, Director General of Dubai's Department of Land said developments in the UAE reflect how powerful is the base forged by the will of the founding fathers, elevated by our good leadership, to become today on the eve of a radical change stage, competing with the civilizations of developed countries, not only in terms of the growth of different economic sectors, but in terms of preparing future generations that will bear the banner of prosperity and glory, to solidify our position at the forefront of nations and peoples.

He pointed out that the launch by the Council of Ministers of the "UAE Centennial 2071" keeps people's diligence, to  surmount challenges for five continuing decades, and we have during them to put in place all development strategies that prepare the State's capabilities  for young people and equip them to support the state's vision and future plans.

Strategy

Ahmed Abdel Karim Glvar, Director General of Dubai Community Development Authority, praised the UAE's centennial strategy for the year 2071 launched by the Council of Ministers, pointing out that such a strategy would ensure a prosperous future for those generations, and strengthen the plans designed to ensure and create a conscious generation and a bright future, strategic domains that focused on education, economy, government development and social cohesion that would develop human potential to grow its capabilities, with the clarity of the future vision of the State, its plans in the hectic changes in the world and the geographical surroundings of the UAE.

He added that the Leadership of the State was fully aware of the right of tomorrow's generations to a secure future, and this strategy was in tune with that goal, as all governmental and local authorities and the private sector will aspire to achieve the main axes of the centennial of the great State, ensuring the future of generations is an inherent right that the Emirates is seeking to achieve, and that it is a legitimate right.

He said that the focus of social solidarity was a vital axis of the strategy to ensure the stability of societies in order to achieve greater economic and cultural achievement, as the disintegration of society does not contribute to its development, noting that future generations need to have cohesive families to ensure their success in their scientific and practical lives.

Quantum leap

Hisham Abdullah al-Qasim, Executive Director of Wasl Group for Asset Management, confirmed that the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, about the launch of the Centennial UAE 2071 project, embodies a five-decade vision and urges all individuals and institutions to be involved in qualitative work to make this comprehensive strategy a success.

He pointed out that the goal is clear: that the UAE becomes the world's best country after 100 years of its inception, and we have to put in place mechanisms, approaches and ways that guarantee the achievement of qualitative transfers in the areas covered by the vision, noting that several means and multiple methods can be employed.

The most important of which, the creation of the necessary ingredients and empowerment tools that help our youth to obtain the best climate for education, training, rehabilitation and employment, and to ensure their constant development, to be able to withstand the daunting tasks that lie ahead of leaders and builders of the nation's edifice.

Wessam Abbas Lootah, Executive Director of Dubai Smart Government Foundation, stated that by  launching "Centennial UAE 2071", the United Arab Emirates has been racing time to build strategic pillars for the future, based on the actual needs of the future generation of young people.

At the same time, the Centennial announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is a message from the UAE to the world, that the future does not wait for anyone, and that the preparation and strategic planning of governments and States must be able to respond to the evolution of future lifestyle and tools.
