A report, estimating GDP of the Emirate of Dubai by fixed prices and issued by Dubai Statistics Center, has indicated a 6.5% growth of manufacturing in the Emirate. The report also indicates an increase in the added value of manufacturing in the first half this year as it reached 23.7 billion AED after it had been 22.3 billion AED in the same period last year.
The DSC has confirmed that the most manufacturing are those whose production involves the use of technology and modern techniques, e.g. manufacturing electrical appliances, equipment, pharmaceutical industries, book publishing, metal founding and shaping. Transformational industries have contributed 13.9% of the GDP driving the growth of overall economy by 0.9%.
