The
report issued from Dubai Statistics Center shows that the general annual
indicator of consumer’s prices declined by 3.34% in April 2020 compared to the
same period in 2019 where prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel
declined by 6.30% that reduced the inflation by 2.64 points, transport section
by 12.34% that reduced the inflation by 1.36 points, recreation and culture
section by 11.41% that reduced the inflation by 0.24 points, garments and
footwear by 6.44% that reduced the inflation by 0.13 points, various items and
services by 0.38% that reduced the inflation by 0.02 points and
telecommunication section by 0.20% that reduced the inflation by 0.01 point.
In
the meantime, the indicator was roses in the food and beverage section by 6.00%
that pushed the inflation by 0.76 points, education section by 1.87% pushing
the inflation by 0.17 points, tobacco section by 14.90% pushing the inflation
by 0.09 point, furniture and furnishing, house ware and their repair by 0.47%
pushing the inflation by 0.02 point and restaurants and hotels section by 0.12%
pushing the inflation by 0.01 point and health section by 0.07%.
The
decline of the consumer price indicator by 1.09% during April 2020
The
general monthly indicator of consumer prices in April 2020 declined compared to
March 2020 by 1.09% due to the reduction of the prices of transport section by
8.40% that reduced the inflation by 0.90 point, housing, water, electricity,
gas and fuel section by 0.85% that reduced inflation by 0.34 points,
restaurants and hotels section by 0.13% that reduced inflation by 0.01 point,
communications section by 0.06% and furniture, furnishing, house ware and their
repair section by 0.01%.
In
the meantime, the prices of food and beverage section increased by 0.88%
pushing inflation by 0.12 point, various items and services section by 0.47%
pushing inflation by 0.03 point, education section by 0.21% pushing inflation
by 0.02 points and recreation and culture section by 0.17%.
The
prices of the tobacco section, garment footwear section and health section
remained at their previous levels during the comparison period.
