Dubai's Manufacturing Sector Producer Price Index Drops by 1.73% in First Quarter of 2020

The Manufacturing Sector Producer Price Index dropped by 1.73% in the first quarter of 2020 compared to fourth quarter of 2019, as it is dropped by 2.66% compared to first quarter of 2019.

The Manufacturing Sector Producer Price Index dropped by 1.73% in the first quarter of 2020 compared to fourth quarter of 2019, as a result of the drop of prices of the following sectors: Drop of Refined Petroleum Products by 17.67%, drop of Basic Pharmaceutical Products and Pharmaceutical Preparations by 3.83%, drop of Motor Vehicles, Trailers and Semi-Trailers by 3.52%, drop of Machinery and Equipment N.E.C. by 2.56%, drop of Leather and Related Products by 2.54%, drop of Other Non-Metallic Mineral Products by 1.84%, drop of Electrical Equipment by 0.80%, drop of Rubber and Plastics Products by 0.62%, drop of Textiles by 0.30%, drop of Furniture by 0.12%, and drop of Manufacture of Basic Metals by 0.11%.

 

On the other hand, the prices of other sectors increased compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, as the prices of the following sectors increased: Beverages increased by 7.78%, Other Manufacturing increased by 6.38%, Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media increased by 2.77%, Food Products increased by 2.31%, Chemicals and Chemical Products increased by 1.90%, Paper and Paper Products increased by 1.72%, Fabricated Metal Products, Except Machinery and Equipment increased by 1.67%, And Tobacco Products increased by 0.98%. Whereas the prices of the following were stabilized: Wearing Apparel, Wood and Products of Wood and Cork, Except Furniture, Other Transport Equipment and Repair and Installation of Machinery and Equipment.

The Manufacturing Sector Producer Price Index dropped by 2.66% in the first quarter of 2020 compared to first quarter of 2019, as a result of the drop of prices of the following sectors: Drop of Refined Petroleum Products by 17.61%, drop of Motor Vehicles, Trailers and Semi-Trailers by 5.99%, drop of Manufacture of Basic Metals by 5.18%, drop of Machinery and Equipment N.E.C. by 4.56%, drop of Leather and Related Products by 3.97%, drop of Paper and Paper Products by 3.90%, drop of Basic Pharmaceutical Products and Pharmaceutical Preparations by 3.83%, drop of Textiles by 3.91%, drop of Other Non-Metallic Mineral Products by 2.15%, drop of Rubber and Plastics Products by 1.86%, drop of drop of Beverages by 1.46%, drop of Electrical Equipment by 0.72%, drop of Furniture by 0.11%, and drop of Repair and Installation of Machinery and Equipment by 0.05%.

 

On the other hand, the prices of other sectors increased in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter of 2019, as the prices of the following sectors increased: Other Manufacturing increased by 21.23%, Food Products increased by 2.45%, Fabricated Metal Products, Except Machinery and Equipment increased by 2.05%, Chemicals and Chemical Products increased by 1.59%, Printing and Reproduction of Recorded Media increased by 0.96%, Tobacco Products increased by 0.43%, Wood and Products of Wood and Cork, Except Furniture increased by 0.02%. Whereas the prices Wearing Apparel and Other Transport Equipment were stabilized in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter of 2019.
