Construction Cost Index (CCI) went down during the third quarter
of 2019 by 0.28 percent, compared to the second quarter of 2019, the Dubai
Statistics Center (DSC) reported.
It was found that the construction costs went down by 0.29
percent for residential buildings and by 0.24 percent of non-residential
buildings.
It is noted that the CCI of Dubai stood at a decline by 0.94
percent when comparing CCI of the third quarter of 2019 to the third quarter of
2018 due to a decrease in construction cost of residential units by 0.88
percent and by 1.16 percent for non-residential units, a DSC report said.

General Index of Construction Costs
The statistics issued by DSC show that the raw materials and
materials used in the construction of buildings dropped by 0.47 percent due to
a decline in Mining and Querying Group by 2.88 percent and Manufacturing Group
by 0.33 percent.
Meanwhile, prices of wages, equipment, labor, and other costs
category remained stable ad maintained their previous levels.
Residential Buildings
The statistics also showed that the raw materials and materials
used in the construction of residential buildings went down by 0.48 percent due
to a decline in Mining and Querying Group by 2.88 percent Manufacturing Group
by 0.33 percent.
Nonetheless, prices of wages, equipment, labor, and other costs
category remained stable ad maintained their previous levels.
Non-Residential Buildings
The raw materials and materials used in the construction of non-residential
buildings decreased by 0.45 percent. The decline in prices is attributed to a
decrease in Mining and Querying Group by 2.88 percent and the Manufacturing
Group by 0.32 percent.
In the meantime, prices of wages, equipment, labor, and other
costs category remained stable ad maintained their previous levels.

The DSC’s statistics also revealed that the raw materials and
materials used in the construction of buildings went down by 1.43 percent due
to a decline in the Manufacturing Group by 1.46 percent and Mining and Querying
Group by 0.87 percent.
Furthermore, prices of wages, equipment, labor, and other costs
category dropped by 0.22 percent due to a decrease in the cost of renting
equipment by 2.29 percent.
Residential Buildings
The statistics revealed that the raw materials and materials
used in the construction of residential buildings went down by 1.43 percent due
to a drop in the Manufacturing Group by 1.47 percent and Mining and Querying
Group by 0.87 percent.
Meanwhile, prices of wages, equipment, labor, and other costs
category surged by 0.01 percent due to a rise in labor wages by 0.79
percent.
Non-Residential Buildings
The raw materials and materials used in the construction of
non-residential buildings decreased by 1.42 percent. The decline in prices is
attributed to a drop in prices of Manufacturing Group by 1.44 percent and
Mining and Querying Group by 0.91 percent.
On the other hand, prices of wages, equipment, labor, and other
costs category went down by 0.88 percent due to a decline in the costs of
renting equipment by 2.29 percent.
