Q4 2015
Construction materials prices index for Q4 2014/2015
DSC report indicated the change in materials prices through monitoring these prices within main groups of construction materials prices index during Q4 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. The following report marks the index change during the assessment period for each commodity separately.
Cement
A study of the index indiacted a decrease in the prices of gypsum by 11.40%%, lime by 3.43%, Portland cement by 2.40%, sulphate resistant cement by 0.85%, and white cement 0.27%
Sand and Aggregates
The index witnessed an increase in concree mixer aggregates (3/16)" prices by 2.67%, red sand by 1.41%, concree mixer aggregates (3/8)" by1.37%, whereas black sand prices fell 1.43% as concree mixer aggregates (3/4)" prices were stabilized, along with white sand
The index of concrete group witnessed a decrease which results in a drop in the prices of ready Portland concrete by 0.92%, along with ready sulphate resistant concrete which fell 0.90%
Steel
The steel group index witnessed a decrease in all the materials listed in it, such as steel B.R.C. mesh for floors (7 mm) which fell 27.37%, round bars (10-25 mm) by 26.53%, round bars (6-8 mm) by 24.30%, and the decrease rate of steel B.R.C. mesh for floors (8 mm) to reach 19.95%, and B.R.C. mesh for floors (6 mm) 12.37%,
Construction Materials Prices Index for Q4 2015 / Q3 2015
On studying the changes in construction materials prices index during Q4 2015 compared to Q3 2015, the change in materials prices was found clear with different rates. The index change for each group is shown below.
Cement
A study of the index indiacted a decrease in the prices of gypsum by 5.16%, Portland cement by 1.81%, and sulphate resistant cement by 0.85%, while lime prices increased by 0.90%, whereas cement prices was stabilized.
Through monitoring sand and aggregates prices, the decrease was witnessed clearly in black sand prices by 1.43%, while prices of other items listed in the group were stabilized.
Bricks
The change in the prices index varied in bricks group, as hollow cement bricks (8 cm) decreased by 1.45%, and hollow cement bricks (6 cm) by 0.78%, while prices of other types of bricks were stabilized.
Concrete
The index of concrete group witnessed a decrease which results in a drop in the prices of ready Portland concrete by 0.25%, and ready sulphate resistant concrete by 0.24%.
Steel
The steel group index witnessed a decrease in all the materials listed in it , as prices of B.R.C. mesh for floors (7 mm) fell 17.54%, B.R.C. mesh for floors (8 mm) by 9.41%, round bars (10-25 mm) by 9.12%, round bars (6-8 mm) by 8.84%, and prices of B.R.C. mesh for floors (6 mm) by 7.57%.
