Data revealed by the Dubai Statistics Center showed that the number of marriage contracts registered in Dubai, from the beginning of the year until the end of last September, reached 3,198.
According to the data issued by the Dubai Courts, the number of marriage contracts for an Emirati husband and wife reached 853 contracts (26.7% of the total contracts). As for the total marriage contracts for an Emirati husband married to a non-Emirati, (including cases of Emirati women married to a non-Emirati), it reached 522 contracts, representing 16.3% .
As to (non-Emirati and non-Emirati) marriage contracts, it amounted to 1823 contracts, which represented about 57% of the total registered contracts. According to the data, 1074 divorces were recorded from the beginning of this year until the end of last September, and the number of divorce cases among UAE citizens reached 198 cases, representing 18.4% of the total divorce cases.
The number of divorce cases for a UAE citizen married to a non-citizen (including Emirati women married to a non-Emirati), 158 divorces, representing 14.7% of the total, while non-citizen divorce cases reached 718, or 66.9%.
The Population Hour Index, on the Dubai Statistics Center's website, showed that the Emirate’s population reached three million and 394 thousand people at the end of the first half of this year, compared to three million and 272 thousand people in the same period last year, an increase of 122 thousand people, representing an increase 3.73%.
