Al Muhairi: Figures of Dubai and Saudi Arabia Cooperation Sustain A Positive Trend

22 September 2019: The trade exchange between the Emirate of Dubai and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stood at 55.3 billion dirhams by the end of 2018, Arif Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Dubai Statistics Center, stated. 

 

Al Muhairi revealed that figures of the Dubai Customs show that Dubai’s non-oil trade with Saudi Arabia accounted for 4.3% out of the overall foreign trade. He also stated that the total imports from Saudi Arabia reached 14.4 billion dirhams, exports to Saudi Arabia stood at 6.3 billion dirhams while reexport volume was 34.6 billion dirhams. 

 

Al Muhairi availed the opportunity to extend his sincerest congratulations to the Kingdom’s wise leadership. “It is a precious occasion, and we share our brotherly country their joy. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a commercial, social and political partner, and the two wise leaderships and nations enjoy a brotherly and blood relationship which is positively reflected on the figures of statistics which always have a positive trend.” 

 

Noteworthy, the DSC staff interacted with this occasion by raising the Saudi flags along with playing the national and cultural Saudi songs. 

 

Al Muhairi pointed out that the number of Saudi citizens who are regular residents in Dubai amounted to five thousand five hundred and eighty-three (5,583) citizens by the end of 2018 as per the DSC population estimates. 

 

According to the figures of the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the number of Saudi students enrolled in higher education institutions in the emirate of Dubai reached 526 students. 

 

The data also showed that the number of Saudi students joined schools in Dubai rose by 6.3%. The total number of Saudi students in public and private schools reached 1,070 students during the academic year 2018/ 2019. Moreover, the total number of Saudi students enrolled in higher education institutions in the Emirate of Dubai reached 526 students. 

 

Per the statistics of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, a total of 756,000 Saudi individuals visited Dubai during the first half of 2019. In 2018, the total number of Saudis who visited Dubai was 1,568,000.
