Dubai Inflation Declines by 0.34% in Q3 2019 Compared to Q2 2019

The Annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate hit a drop level by 0.34 percent in Q3-2019 compared to the Q2- 2019, the Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) reported.

 

DSC report has revealed that CPI witnessed a decrease in its rates due to a decline in prices of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas Group by 1.33 percent leading inflation to go down by 0.55 percent, Clothing and Footwear Group declined by 5.09 percent making inflation rate less by 0.10 percent, Transportation Group went down by 0.23 percent that lessened inflation by 0.03 percent, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance group by 0.24 percent leading the inflation rate to shrink by 0.01 percent, Communications Group went down by 0.22 percent pushing inflation rate down by 0.01 percent and Tobbaco Group by 0.34 percent.

In the meantime, CPI of Food and Beverages Group increased by 1.89 percent pushing inflation rate up by 0.24 percent, Recreation and Culture Group went up by 2.38 percent pushing inflation rate up by 0.05 percent, Education Group rose by 0.48 percent adding 0.04 to inflation rate, Miscellaneous Goods and Services group went up by 0.44 percent pushing inflation up by 0.03 percent, Restaurants and Hotels Group by 0.05 percent and Health Group by 0.04 percent.

 

CPI Declined by 2.96% in Q3-2019 Compared to Q3-2018

As for the CPI of Q2- 2019 compared to Q2- 2018, analysis shows that it went down by 2.96 percent. Grounds for such a decrease are attributed to a shrink in prices of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas by 6.12 percent leading inflation to decline by 2.60 percent, Transporation prices went down by 4.64 pushing inflation rate down by 0.53 percent, Clothing and Footwear decreased by 4.61 percent to push inflation rate down by 0.09 percent, Miscellaneous Goods and Services group went down by 1.47 percent pushing inflation down by 0.09 percent, Communications group by 0.13 percent leading inflation rate to decrease by 0.01 percent and Tobbaco group by 0.70 percent.

Meanwhile, prices of certain groups stood at a rise, including Food and Beverages group which increased by 1.06 percent adding 0.13 percent to inflation rate, Reation and Culture Group rose by 4.68 percent pushing inflation rate up by 0.09 percent, Resturants and Hotels which rose by 1.79 percent adding 0.08 percent to inflation rate, Educartion group by 0.50 percent leading inflation to rise by 0.05 percent, Furnishings, Household Equipment androup by  Routine Household Maintenance increased by 0.48 percent adding 0.02 percent to inflation rate, and Health group by 0.15 percent.
