Dubai Annual CPI Falls down by 2.87% in September 2019

The Annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate hit a drop level by 2.87 percent in September 2019 compared to the same period in 2018, the Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) reported.

It is revealed that CPI decreased due to a decline in prices of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas Group by 5.96 percent leading inflation to go down by 2.53 percent, Transportation Group by 6.24 percent that lessened inflation by 0.71 percent, Clothing and Footwear Group declined by 3.96 percent making inflation rate less by 0.08 percent, Miscellaneous Goods and Services group went down by 1.10 percent pushing inflation down by 0.07 percent, Communications Group went down by 0.22 percent pushing inflation rate down by 0.01 percent and Tobacco Group decreased by 0.19 percent.

In the meantime, CPI of Recreation and Culture Group rose by 8.48 percent pushing inflation rate up by 0.16 percent, Food and Beverages Group increased by 1.13 percent pushing inflation rate up by 0.14 percent, Education Group went up by 1.45 percent leading inflation rate to rise by 0.13 percent,  Restaurants and Hotels Group rose by 1.77 percent leading the inflation rate to stand at rise by 0.08 percent, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance Group rose by 0.45 percent adding to the inflation rate 0.02 percent and Health Group by 0.16 percent.

 

CPI Falls by 0.74% in September 2019

As for the CPI of September 2019 compared to August 2019, it stood at a decline of 0.74 percent. Grounds for such a decrease are attributed to a decline in Transportation Group by 6.36 percent pushing inflation rate down by 0.74 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas Group by 0.38 percent leading inflation to go down by 0.16 percent, Recreation and Culture Group went down by 1.50 percent pushing inflation rate down by 0.03 percent, Restaurants and Hotels Group declined by 0.11 percent,  Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance Group went down by 0.04 percent, Communications Group stood at a decline by 0.03 percent and Miscellaneous Goods and Services group went down by 0.03 percent

Meanwhile, prices of certain groups witnessed a rise in rates, including Education Group by 1.45 percent pushing the inflation rate up by 0.13 percent, Food and Beverages Group which rose by 0.43 percent pushing inflation rate up by 0.06 percent, Tobacco Group by 0.77 percent, Clothing and Footwear Group rose by 0.08 percent.

On the other hand, the Health Group maintained its former level during the period of comparison.
