Prices of Reinforced Steel Down By 20% In Q2 Marking 1903 Dirhams Per Tonne

According to data made available by Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC), steel prices witnessed a further decline in 2nd Quarter of 2017 compared to both 1st quarter of 2017 and 2nd quarter of 2016 as prices of reinforced steel bars "25-10 mm" reached 1903.3 dirhams while it was 1961.3 dirhams in 1st quarter of 2017 marking a decline by 3% with a total of 58 dirhams per tonne and 20% compared to 2nd quarter of 2016 when prices hit the bar of 2390 dirhams per tonne.

Prices of regular cement "Portland-bag 50kg" increased by 6% during the past 2nd quarter and priced 14.33 dirhams compared to 13.50 dirhams in 1st quarter of 2017 marking an increase by 8% compared to 2nd quarter of 2016 when prices reached 13.28 dirhams per bag.

Meanwhile, prices of white cement "50kg bag" kept static at 34.21 dirhams in the current 2nd quarter compared to 1st quarter of 2017 and 2nd quarters of 2016. Similarly, Lime prices "25kg bag" have stayed the same at 18 dirhams marking a decline by 4% compared to 2nd quarter of 2016 priced 18.75 dirhams. "Gypsum" prices also stayed the same at 9 dirhams compared to the 1st quarter of 2017 while it decreased by 4% compared to 2nd quarter of 2016 priced 9.36 dirhams. 

As for ready-made concrete, prices of "Ordinary Portland Newton 40" per cubic meter increased by 2% and reached 245.8 dirhams compared to 1st quarter of 2017 being priced at 240.8 dirhams and marking a rise by 1% compared to 242.5 dirhams during 2nd quarter. Furthermore, prices of ready-made concrete, "Sulphate Resisting Newton 40" per cubic meter rose by 2% and priced at 250.4 dirhams compared to 245.8 dirhams in the 1st quarter of 2017 and 1% higher than 2nd quarter of 2016 being priced 247.5 dirhams.
