Inflation Levels Stand at Rise by 0.51% in November 2018

According to the report recently issued by the Dubai Statistics Center (DSC), the Annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) Rate hit a rise level by 0.51% by November 2018 compared to the same period in 2017. CPI increases due to a rise in prices of transportation group by 13.15% leading inflation to increase by 1.33 point, Food and Beverages group went up by 3.68% pushing inflation upwards by 0.46 point, Hotels and Restaurants rose by 9.18% adding 0.37 point to inflation rate, Communication group by 5.28% affecting the inflation rate to increase by 0.25 point, , Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance group by 3.93% leading inflation rate to increase by 0.15 point, Education group by 1.04% leading inflation rate to rise by 0.09 point, Tobacco group by 12.40%  resulted in an increase in inflation rate by 0.06 point and Recreation and Culture group which went up by 1.83% pushing the inflation rate up by 0.03 point.

In the meantime, CPI of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuel declined by 4.72% leading the inflation rate to go down by 2.10 point, Clothing and Footwear group by 5.49% lowering the inflation rate by 0.11 point, Miscellaneous Goods and Services group went down by 0.29% pushing inflation rate up to 0.02 point and Health group by 0.25%.

CPI Stood at a Decline by 0.28% during November 2018

DSC reported that CPI decreased by 0.28% in November 2018 compared to October 2018. The decline is attributed to a drop in prices of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuel by 0.64% leading the inflation rate to go down by 0.27 point, Clothing and Footwear group by 1.22% lowering the inflation rate by 0.02 point, Recreation and Culture group which went down by 1.26% pushing the inflation rate down by 0.02 point, Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance group which decreased by 0.10% and Communications Group by 0.03%.

On the other hand, prices of Miscellaneous Goods and Services Group increased by 0.44%, which pushed inflation up by 0.03 point, Food and Beverages Group went up by 0.08% leading the inflation rate to increase by 0.01 point, Restaurants and Hotels Group increased by 0.14% resulting in an increase in the inflation rate by 0.01 point and Transportation Group by 0.03%.

In the meantime, the prices of the Tobacco, Health, and Education groups Section have stabilized at their previous levels during the comparison period.
