Dubai Sees 7271 Buildings with a Total Value of 28.3 Billion Dirhams in 2017

Dubai Statistics Center "DSC" stated that Dubai observed the completion of 7271 new buildings valued at 28.3 billion dirhams during 2017 with an average of 20 buildings completed per day.

DSC's statistical report revealed that Multi-Storey Ratio Buildings topped the buildings list in terms of value as it recorded 9.535 billion dirhams with a total 303 buildings. On the other hand, Multi-Storey Buildings were placed second with total completed buildings of 349 at a value of 9.446 billion dirhams.

The report shows that the number of completed Investment Villas during 2017 were 4480 with a valued at 4.206 billion dirhams. Meanwhile, the number of completed Private Villas was 1609 valued at 3.32 billion dirhams. In same respect, Public Buildings completed were 194 with a value of 2.549 billion dirhams, while the Industrial Units completed were 147 units of a total value of 2.532 billion dirhams.

Additionally, data show that the total number of completed buildings in Dubai during the first quarter was 2625 buildings valued at 8.98 billion dirhams compared to 1708 buildings during the second quarter with a value of 6.845 billion dirhams. During the third and fourth quarters, the total number of completed buildings was 1300 and 1638 respectively valued at 6.327 billion dirhams and 7.30 billion dirhams.

The statistical data revealed that Investment Villas topped the completed buildings in Dubai with a percentage of 61.61% of total completed buildings during 2017. Meanwhile, percentage of completed Private Villas was 22.13% followed by the Multi-Story buildings by 4.80%, industrial buildings by 4.62%, while Multi-Storey Ratio Buildings by 4.17% and lastly Public Buildings by 2.67%.

In terms of the value of buildings, Multi-Storey Ratio Buildings accounted for 33.69% of the total value of the completed buildings in 2017 followed by Multi-Story buildings which accounted for 22.78%. Investment Villas accounted for 14.85% of the total value registered compared to 10.71% of Private Villas, Public Buildings by 9.01% and 8.95% for Industrial Buildings.

According to the data issued by the Dubai Statistics Center, the number of completed buildings set a record during 2016 compared to eight years ago when the total number of buildings completed was 11,413.
