DSC and US Census Bureau exchange experiences related to innovation in the statistical field

Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) in coordination with the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai and with participation of representatives from The Federal Competitiveness & Statistics Authority in the UAE to exchange creative experiences & experiments in the field of statistics. Teams from both DSC and US Census Bureau reviewed and discussed their most creative initiatives or those fostering the culture of innovation through a live video conference.

 

DSC team presented its initiatives where Ms. Naeema Abdulla, Creativity & Innovation Unit Head, elaborated more about "Innovative Statistics" Project, which focuses on implementing a benchmarking methodology "TRADE". It is an advanced scientific methodology focusing on learning from the best practices from various organizations for the sake of transferring and exchanging knowledge and successful experiences. Moreover, the Innovative Statistics Project, which DSC is participating with in "Dubai We Learn" Initiative adopted by Dubai Government Excellence Program, which won the 1st place in two stages of this initiative among 13 participating teams from Dubai government entities.

Furthermore, DSC is currently reviewing its Creativity and Innovation plan for the year 2016 through introducing the implementation of the most prestigious Innovation

Management Guidelines CEN/TS 16555-1 and aligning it with its framework to proactively invest in creativity & innovation in the development of its unique statistical framework.

 

On the other hand, US Census Bureau presented their initiatives about innovation management, operational efficiency, and advanced electronic systems used to manage and implement creative suggestions. They also presented creative methods followed to raise and encourage employees to be more creative and innovative embedding it to be a cultural change.

 

 

Moreover, US Census Bureau presented about their latest creative methods implemented in census and the major changes developed to raise the quality and reduce effort , cost and time to a minimum level accelerating towards increasing the business efficiency.

 

 

Both DSC & US Census Bureau are aiming for continuous cooperation, in order to exchange knowledge and experience in coordination with US Consulate General where it discusses various aspects of statistical work based on a set agenda to exchange knowledge and successful experiences in those areas. The partnership between both organizations is built on transparency and mutual benefits that adds value to both parties since they have extended statistical and management experiences that can be utilized incredibly in the processes of corporate development.
