| Consturction Materials Prices Indicators

Construction sector is a major factor in the national economy, due to its association and its direct impact on many economic activities, contributing 7.40% of GDP in the first half of 2015, The indicator aims to fulfills the targets and benefits to economic decision and policy makers, business and the authors of the national accounts.
The Center calculates indicators of construction materials prices by monitoring the movement of basic materials pirces involved in the process of building the main structure, which includes five sub-groups:
- Cement
- Aggregates & Sand
- Blocks
- Concrete
- Steel
Through monitoring consturction materials prices of the major groups during 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, changes observed in the prices of the materials, The following report reviews the movement of indicators during the comparison period of each item
| Cement
The Indicator of Cement Group recorded an increase in the prices of Portland Cement by 0.35% and prices of Sulphate Resistance Cement by 0.21%, On the other hand, the prices of Gypusm decreased by 5.27%, followed by prices of Lime by 0.66%, then prices of White Cement by 0.43%.
| Aggregates & Sand
The Indicators in Aggregates & Sand records an increase in most of the materials in the group. An increase of 4.08% in the prices of Aggregates sized 3/16, followed by an increase in the prices of Red Sand by 3.60%. Moreover, the prices of Aggregates sized 3/8 increased by 1.03%, then an increase in the prices of White Sand and Black Sand by 0.45% and 0.12% respectively. While the prices of Aggregates sized 3/4 did not show any difference since last year.
| Blocks
The prices increased slightly in all of the materials in the Blocks Group, prices of Hollow blocks 4 cm increased by 3.36%, Hollow blocks 6 cm by 1.52%, Hollow blocks 8 cm by 1.36%, Solid blocks 8 cm by 0.55%, Solid blocks 6 cm by 0.32% and the prices of Solid blocks 4 cm increased by 0.28%.
| Concrete
The indicators records an increase in the prices of Concrete Group, as the prices of Portland Ready Mix increased by 1.92% and prices of Sulphate Resistance Ready Mix increased by 1.79%.
| Steel
Through monitoring the prices in Steel Group, it has been observed a decrease in the prices of Steel Bars (10-25 mm) by 16.38%, followed by the prices of Steel Bars (6-8 mm) by 15.61%. In addition, prices of B.R.C. Mesh (7 mm) decreased by 12.23%, then prices of B.R.C. Mesh (8 mm) decreased by 11.98%, and B.R.C. Mesh (6 mm) declined by 6.75%.
