Dubai Statistics: Construction Cost Index of Dubai Surges 1.37 in Q3-18

Construction costs rose during the third quarter of 2018 by 1.37 per cent, compared to the second quarter of 2018. It was found that the construction costs rose by 1.32 per cent for residential buildings and rose by 1.53% of non-residential buildings, figures from the Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC) have revealed.

It is noted that the Construction Cost Index (CCI) in Dubai stood at rise by 5.87 per cent when comparing CCI of the third quarter of 2018 to the third quarter of 2017, a DSC report said.

The statistics issued by DSC show that the raw materials and materials used in the construction of buildings stood at rise by 0.23 per cent due to a rise in Manufacturing Group by 0.28 per cent despite a decline in prices of Mining Materials and Quarrying Group by 0.75%.

Additionally, prices of wages, equipment, labor and other costs category increased by 3.12% due to a rise in labor wages and other costs by 3.32% and cost of hiring equipment by 0.71%.

 

Residential Buildings

The statistics also showed that the raw materials and materials used in the construction of residential buildings went up by 0.24 per cent due to a rise in prices of Manufacturing Group by 0.30 per cent, considering Mining Materials and Quarrying Group declined by 0.75 per cent.

Additionally, prices of wages, equipment, labor and other costs category increased by 3.12% due to a rise in labor wages and other costs by 3.32 per cent and cost of hiring equipment by 0.71%.

 

Non-Residential Buildings

The raw materials and materials used in the construction of non-residential buildings increased by 0.19 per cent. The surge in prices is attributed to a rise in prices of Manufacturing Group by 0.24 per cent, while prices Mining Materials and Quarrying Group went down by 0.75 per cent.

Moreover, prices of wages, equipment, labor and other costs category rose by 3.11% due to a rise in labor wages and other costs by 3.32% despite the cost of hiring equipment rose by 0.71%.

The DSC's statistics also revealed that the raw materials and materials used in the construction of buildings went up by 7.51 per cent due to a rise in prices of Mining Materials and Quarrying Group by 12.70 per cent and Manufacturing Group by 7.24 per cent.

Furthermore, prices of wages, equipment, labor and other costs category increased by 3.51% due to a surge in labor wages and other costs by 3.60% and cost of hiring equipment by 1.68 per cent.

 

Residential Buildings

The statistics revealed that the raw materials and materials used in the construction of residential buildings went up by 7.58 per cent due to an increase in Mining Materials and Quarrying Group by 12.69 per cent and Manufacturing Group by 7.30 per cent.

Additionally, prices of wages, equipment, labor and other costs category surged by 3.51% due to a rise in labor wages and other costs by 3.60% and cost of hiring equipment by 1.68%.

 

Non-Residential Buildings

The raw materials and materials used in the construction of residential buildings increased by 7.25 per cent. The rise in prices is attributed to a surge in prices of Mining Materials and Quarrying Group by 12.73 per cent and Manufacturing Group by 7.00 per cent.

Additionally, prices of wages, equipment, labor and other costs category surged by 3.51% due to a rise in labor wages and other costs by 3.60% and cost of hiring equipment by 1.68%.
