3.26 Million during daylight hours .. males outnumber females by threefold

DSC most recent records has shown that the permanent residence number has exceeded 2 million residents in the Emirate. It reached two million three thousand and 170 residents, while the number of individuals who are in the Emirate during daylight hours, by the end of 2011, has reached three million twenty three thousand and four hundred twenty six people.
An official person in DSC has declared that analytical data indicates that the increase in movements of individuals in Dubai during the daylight is due to two main reasons; First: the plenty of various investment opportunities in Dubai, which encourage a number of residents of other Emirates to move to it during the day in order to run their jobs or to work for others; Second: The residence of a ratio of people working in both public and private sectors in the Emirate of Dubai in the neighboring Emirates due to relatively low rents in these Emirates.
On the other hand, the number of males among the resident population in the Emirate has reached one million five hundred thirty six thousand and three hundred eighty persons, outnumbering females by threefold, as females number has reached four hundred sixty six thousand and seven hundred ninety persons.
The official person has considered the increase of males compared to females is due to the higher rate of male expats who do not take their families with them.
Regarding both age and gender structures of Dubai population, data indicates that the age group between 30-34 years old ranked 1st among other groups, as its population reached three hundred ninety two thousand and eight hundred person, with a ratio of 19.61% of total population, followed by the age group between 25-29 years old, with its population reached three hundred ninety one thousand and one hundred twenty five person, with a ratio of 19.53 of total population.
As for the age group between 35-39 years old, they ranked 3rd; its population reached two hundred ninety nine thousand six hundred and five person, with a ratio of 14.96% of total population.
The official source stated that the main reason of population concentration in the three mentioned age groups is due to the increase in number of the international labor in the working age, within the Emirate.
Regarding the population distribution of the Emirate residents according to planning areas, population estimations have shown the increase of population number in the areas where the residential compounds of workers. Al Muhaisnah 2 area ranked first among the planning areas in terms of population number, as its population reached one hundred sixty three thousand two hundred and thirty eight persons, with a ratio of 8.15% of total population, followed by three areas in the planning sector in the Emirate of Dubai: Jebel Ali First Industrial Area, which its population has reached one hundred nine thousand one hundred and sixty seven person, with a ratio of 5.45% of total population; Al Quoz Industrial Second, ranked 3rd with a population that reached ninety six thousands three hundred and forty four person with a ratio of 4.81% of total population; and Al Karama ranked 4th, with a population reached seventy three thousand three hundred and sixty person, with a ratio of 3066% of total population of the Emirate.
DSC data indicates that geographical distribution of Dubai Emirate population, according to the main sectors and planning areas in 2011, shows the concentration of population in sector (3), where the population reached seven hundred eighty four thousand six hundred and seventy seven person, with a ratio of 39.17% of total population in the Emirate, followed by sector number (2) as its population reached four hundred nineteen thousand seven hundred and thirty four person with a ratio of 20.95%, while sector number (1) ranked 3rd, as its population reached four hundred seven thousand and one hundred person, with a ratio of 20.32%.
